19 Truly Bezel-Less Smartphones You Should Consider In 2019

May 26, 2018 By Kriztekblog 2 Comments

It’s trending to hear about smartphones with bezels/borders, little bezels or no bezels at all. Now, look at the two images below and find out if you could spot any differences on the displays.

vivo apex bezel less smartphones

If you look really close, you will surely find something very unique about the two devices up there. They are both bezel-less smartphones but one is more bezel-less than the other.

So, What is a Bezel? And what does Bezel-less mean?

The simplest explanation of what a Bezel is on a smartphone is this:

Anything/space on the front(display) of your smartphone that isn’t the screen is a bezel. It’s as simple as that.

So a bezel-less smartphone is one that has nothing in front of the display apart from the real screen. A truly 100% bezel-less smartphone will have nothing but display and real screen estate on the front. That’s one of the biggest challenges to overcome but hardware and software-wise.

Some smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Apple etc are trying to cut out those bezels as much as possible while others like Sony aren’t doing much to reduce the bezels even on their recent devices.

I will leave that for you to confirm.

Just to get some more information on bezels and bezel-less display, you should check out this article on LifeWire about bezels.

Some of the trending specs in the smartphone world include dual cameras and Bokeh/Portrait photos, 18:9 Display, Bezelless Display, Fingerprint, Face/Iris Unlock, On-screen Fingerprint Unlock, and who’s actually faster.

A lot of devices pack this features but we are going be taking them in turns. Let’s see a list of the best bezel-less smartphones in 2018.

Bezel-Less Smartphones In 2018

Oppo Find X

oppo-find-x-bezel-less-Android

The most anticipated bezel-less Android phone is here. The Oppo Find X kills the smartphone notch with a motorized pop-up camera that works like another small smartphone is at the back. Talking about the bezels, it has a 93.8% screen to body ratio. That’s so good.

This smartphone doesn’t only kill the trending notch on Android phones, it also has a very high-end spec and price.

It has got the Snapdragon 845, Android 8.1, 256GB storage, no card slot, 8GB RAM and a nice 3730mAh battery. It will cost more than $1,000 and would also be available in North America.

It has its own Emoji(Omoji), 3D Face unlock, dual front facing cameras and a flash for selfies, dual AI cameras with portrait mode, Face unlock and nice gestures.

Vivo Apex

vivo apex smartphones without bezels

This is also one of the best smartphones currently with a truly bezel-less display, no notch or whatever. The Vivo Apex has a 95% screen to body ratio and that’s so wonderful.

The Vivo Apex isn’t just beautiful, it has a lot of powerful specs to keep it at the top. The CPU is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 64-bit processor Octa-Core 4×2.8GHz Kryo 385 + 4×1.8GHz Kryo 385 CPU with a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU for graphics.

For photography, it has a 24 Megapixels with Dual-LED and AF rear camera plus an 8 Megapixel Front camera for selfies.
It has a 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB ROM with support for external memory up to 256GB (uses SIM 2 slot). It has a screen size of 5.99 inches OLED FHD+ Display (1080 X 2160 Pixels) and a 4,000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery.

It runs on the latest Android 8 Oreo like all recently released phones.

How does the Vivo Apex take selfies when it has no visible camera in front?

Vivo has given the Apex a hidden front-firing camera that pops up when needed. Instead of the notch design to house the selfie camera, Vivo decided to change the game in a very clever way.
