Some new Tecno smartphones have just been unleashed in India and their specs are quite interesting. Tecno Mobile which is owned by the Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings has launched five new smartphones in India, starting from Rs. 7,990 /
N37,875. Four of the five smartphones will be available from Wednesday onwards.

The company also boasts of its PIXELEX engine that is meant to improve the quality of night photos and videos. Some models, like the Tecno i7, also come with a quad-LED flash module on the rear camera, apart from screen flash and a separate LED module for the front camera.
“Our “i” series is made for India, designed for India. “India is a very important market for us and most importantly, we are launching a series of products, not one product. It’s easy to make one phone for India but to make a series for India shows how serious we are about the market,” he added.
Another feature being touted by the company is the presence of an ‘anti-oil fingerprint sensor‘, which it says allows users to unlock their smartphones without much worry about “Indian lifestyle and weather conditions.” Tecno Mobile also boasts of its Rocket fast charging technology, which is said to shorten charging time by as much as 20 percent compared to traditional charging methods. Finally, the company is also highlighting features of its own HiOS custom Android ROM, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and includes features like Smart Split-Screen. The company says it will launch its smartphones in the country(India) with a ‘Tecno 151 Promise‘ – this is meant to signify a 100-day replacement guarantee, 50 percent buyback, and 1-year one-time screen replacement. This offer will be free for a limited time. Vice President Arif Chowdhury of Transsion Holdings adds,
“After-sales service is very important for the group,” he said when asked about the company’s emphasis on providing customer service to users in India. “We have spent $70-75 million dollars globally to set-up service centers,”
Chowdhury said. Even though the company operates its own service centers in other markets where the brand has made its presence, in India it will be dependent on 144 third-party after-sales service outlets”
