Lost Your Google Search History? Here’s How To Get Them Back

May 30, 2018 By Kriztekblog Leave a Comment

Once upon a time(about 6 months ago), I was looking for a WordPress theme online and got something better on page 4 of the Google search results. I was so glad!

I then registered and decided to pay for the product but couldn’t use my credit card due to low funds. But that wasn’t an issue because I planned to do it later on(I felt I would never forget the web address). When the ideal time came, about a month later, I kept on procrastinating until I discovered I had cleared my entire browsing history too many times.

I couldn’t remember the site, the name of the anything related to it and then out of frustration plus laziness, I just gave up.

Today, I just decided to trouble my head a little bit and that was when the coolest thing happened.

I even cleared my browsing data before trying something new but the outcome was amazing.

Has this ever happened to you?

After searching and saving stuff and you then clear your browsing data. Oh, you just can’t locate that web page again or recall the name of the site you found out of 100 searches.

It happens, we all clear our browsing data once in a while for various reasons. But when you clear all of your browsing data on Google, is there a way of getting back that information and search history? Maybe you just want to go through them or find out something really important.

The good news is that Google has a solution to that, and even most of our online problems.

Now, let’s quickly look at the big deal.

How To Recover Your Google Search History

Google – My Activity

Google - My Activity Google Search History

Google My Activity, might not sound like a new thing to most people, but how have you been utilizing it? That’s where the real stuff comes.

It’s like having Google Maps but never using it to do a location check or one of those cool features it has. I remember a friend who got lost when he traveled, he then called me and was trying to inquire about directions. It was then that one of us in the room asked him if his Android phone was switched off.

He said no. The guy then asked him to use Google Maps and stop acting like a caveman. He laughed and then we saw him about 30 minutes later, shouting Google Maps!

So, what’s Google My Activity and how can it be helpful to you?

My Activity is a central place to view and manage activity like searches you’ve done, websites you’ve visited, and the videos you’ve watched. Every single activity on your Google account is kept here.

When you use certain Google services, like Search, YouTube, or Chrome, your activity can be saved as data to your account. This activity helps make your experience on Google faster and more useful.

The kinds of activity that show up in My Activity depend on which Google products you use and which Activity controls are turned on.

You can find and see your searches, browsing history, and other activity that’s saved to your Google Account in My Activity. You’re in control of what’s saved there, and you can delete past activity from your account.

The Google My Activity is saved when you’re signed in to your Google Account.

My Activity is extremely useful if you really want to know what Google knows about you, find out older information about your activities like searches.

After fruitlessly looking for a way to recover the website I found about 6 months ago after clearing my browsing data too many times, I finally remembered that Google My activity existed and decided to use it as soon as possible.

Although it took a little time to get the info, it was a fast success because Google My Activity is properly organized. I just had to type what I remember in the search box and then carefully analyzed the results of my activity until I found the right one.

It doesn’t end in search, you can delete your activity and information related to your Google account. But remember you can’t access it once it’s deleted.

So, let’s see how we can access My Activity on our Android phone, computer or iPhone/iPad

How To Access My Activity On An Android Phone, Computer or iPhone/iPad

Accessing your Google Activity on your Android phone is like taking out your wallet from your pocket, it’s so simple and straightforward.

Since Google made it very organized, your activity is listed from the most recent activity till the oldest. Everything is easy to understand just at a glance.

  • On your Android phone or tablet, open your device’s Settings app Settings app and then Google and then Google Account.
  • At the top, tap Data & personalization.
  • Under “Activity and timeline,” tap My Activity.

You can view your activity: Browse through your activity, organized by day and time.

At the top, use the search bar and filters to find specific activity.

To access your Google Activity from the computer or an iPad/iPhone,

  • Goto https://myactivity.google.com
  • If you aren’t logged in, enter the appropriate email/username and password and login.
  • You will then find all your activity on Google starting from the most recent, probably your visit to iFindhub.com

Hope you find this information useful. Go through your Google activity and you will be amazed at how much Google has saved regarding your online activities. You can adjust the controls and delete your activity if you please.

If you had like to turn off some activity from being saved by Google, you should visit the activity control page @ https://myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols

You can turn off the activity/settings you wish including

  • Web & App Activity
  • Location History
  • Device Information
  • Voice & Audio Activity
  • YouTube Search/Watch
  • Etc

What are you waiting for? Go to your Google activity and see what you can get out of that huge information. Don’t forget to share the post and tell us if the Google My Activity has been helpful.
