Just like the stock firmware of every Samsung phone, a combination firmware is also a stock firmware. It’s the factory firmware that is flashed to the compatible device for several reasons.
- So, what is a Samsung combination firmware/combination ROM/flashfile or what is it used for?
A Combination Firmware is professional service firmware/flash file. Also called a developer software, it is used to check all hardware features like back camera, front camera, sensors, RAM memory, ROM memory, screen/display etc via a service menu.
Uses of a Samsung combination firmware are:
- Removing of FRP(Factory Reset Protection)
- Troubleshooting
- Testing
- Restoring to factory defaults
- Enable ADB/Fastboot mode
- It enables the service menu to test the Samsung device.
- Combination file can be used to downgrade the android version.
- Fix the device does not have the key-DRK issue.
- Fix stuck or stopping in recovery mode.
- Combination firmware can fix a device stuck on Samsung logo.
- Fix IMEI number
- Knox repair
- Change CSC of device
and other reasons.
Whatever you want to do with a combination firmware, make sure you flash the one that matches your device and also have the official working stock ROM to restore your device to its normal state for daily usage.
Flashing the combination files can be done via Samsung Odin Flashtool, Z3X Box, CM2 Samsung Module, Octoplus Box, Miracle Box and many more tools.
In summary, to flash the Samsung stock firmware or combination file, you need:
- Install the latest Samsung Android USB Drivers
- Download the latest or compatible version of Samsun Odin FlashTool or your favourite Samsung servicing too.

i need change the CSC of my SM g9750 (HK version) for CHO (SM g975F, Chile versión), can i use the file CSC of any biuld that have the same bootloader?
Yes you can. But G9750 and G975F are not compatible.
I have a question. I have a Samsung S10 SM-G973F with Android version 10 and One UI 2.1 with compilation number G973FXXU7CTF1 (Binary 7). I found a compilation file on the web that I assumed was compatible with my device named “COMBINATION FAC FA90 G973FXXU7ATF1”. I know I must use Odin to use this merge file. I also know that later I must use the ROM STOCK (BL, AP, CP, CSC). But does this ROM STOCK have to match the binary of my device (U7) to be able to flash it? Could you use a stock ROM with binary 1,2,3 for example? Because on the web there is no ROM STOCK with binary 7 (there is only with binary 1,2,3,4).
What should I do then? then use the room
You’re right in the second line. You need a stock ROM with the same bootloader version to reinstall back to your device after flashing the Combination firmware. You can either use a higher build or the same build binary when flashing any stock firmware to your device.
